Cheadles LLP is seeking a full-time law clerk or legal assistant to join our team. The successful candidate should have excellent organizational and client relation skills.  Experience in a law office setting, specifically in the area of estates and estate planning, is a definite asset. A strong independent work ethic, and familiarity with Microsoft Office are required.

CHEADLES – Administrative / Accounting Department

CHEADLES LLP, a comprehensive legal services firm, requires a full-time Accounting Clerk

Requirements: Graduate from a business admin diploma or business accounting diploma program

Responsibilities would include:

  • Data entry of accounting documents and accounts payable
  • Preparation of monthly reconciliation reports
  • Preparation of requested reports for lawyers from PC Law and Excel
  • Preparation of bank deposits
  • Interacting with vendors and suppliers
  • Communication with clients, staff members, and vendors in person, via email, and on the telephone
  • Answering telephone and managing telephone switchboard
  • Other administrative and accounting tasks

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Focus on client service
  • Strong organizational and filing skills
  • Experience or formal education in accounting or bookkeeping preferred
  • Excellent computer skills particularly in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Bookkeeping Programs
  • Previous experience in an office environment would be an asset, but not required
  • Valid driver’s license and daily access to a vehicle would be an asset, but not required.
